Journal backups are automatically created in WINPACCS Accounting when various events occur and are uploaded to WINPACCS Cloud. These backups can be used to reset a journal to an earlier status if an error occurs. The restore is logged. If the restore – in addition to overwriting incorrect postings – also overwrites at least one already uploaded closing, this closing must be deleted by WINPACCS Support. In this case, the restore in WINPACCS Accounting requires a verification code. Journal backup type

Indicates at which event the journal backup was created:

▪after the day-end closing

▪after the month-end closing

▪before returning (the journal)

NOTE: In WINPACCS Accounting there are other types of journal backups (e.g. manual backups), but these are not uploaded to WINPACCS Cloud.

Last voucher number

Displays the last voucher number of the vouchers included in this backup.

Created on

Shows when the backup was created.

Created by

Shows which user created the backup.

Accounting period

Shows the accounting period, in which the backup was created. For backups after a month-end closing, this is the accounting period following the month-end closing.

Uploaded on

Shows date and time of the upload.

Functions

Depending on your user role and the release status of the journal, different functions are available.

Creates a PDF document that contains all the properties of the journal and its entire history.

Delete

Deletes the journal. This function is only available in the New release status.

Release

Releases changes to a journal or a new journal. Publishes the project to forward the changes to WINPACCS Accounting and WINPACCS Cashbook. This function is only available in the New and Changed release status.

Undo

Undoes all changes that have not yet been released. This function is only available in the Changed release status.

Release status

You must release () changes. It is only possible to forward them to WINPACCS Accounting and WINPACCS Cashbook after you have done this and published them with the project data.

New	The journal has been newly created and not yet released. It is not yet available in WINPACCS Accounting or WINPACCS Cashbook.
Released	The journal has been released and will be published with the project data.
Edited	There are changes to the journal that have not yet been released. The changes have not yet been taken into account in WINPACCS Accounting and WINPACCS Cashbook.
